Reach for Reading

Reach for Reading is a family literacy program at Long Branch Elementary School designed for EL students and their families from pre-school to grade 2. Monthly meetings are held in the evening in the library. Each meeting is focused on a curriculum area and includes reading, writing and math. Representatives from Arlington County programs, such as the Public Library, Nature Centers, and The Arlington Soccer Association, attend to register children and parents for various programs. The Reach for Reading program provides the opportunity for parents to embrace their role as academic coaches and allow their children to reach their fullest social and academic potential.
